Who the coaches missed and Round 5’s Most Damaging Player
Who did the coaches miss in Round 5?
Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has assessed which players were overlooked in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
See who the coaches missed below:

Brad Close (Geelong)
“Third-highest rated player on the ground,” Hoyne told SEN's Sportsday.
“Second-highest rated game of his career.”
Archie Roberts (Essendon)
“Third-highest rated player on the ground.
“Only eight games (into his career), but you can see he is a ball user!”
Jaeger O’Meara (Fremantle)
“Second-highest rated player on the ground.
“He's back to having that balance of that wing, centre-bounce role.”
Harvey Thomas (GWS)
“Didn’t get a vote from the coaches, fifth-highest rated player on the ground.”
“He is an Adam Kingsley player… Quick, nimble, creative, and tough.”
Lloyd Meek (Hawthorn)
“His best game of the 2025 campaign.
“Was actually the third-highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.”
Hoyne also revealed the round’s Most Damaging Player (MDP).
“Overall, it was Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera,” Hoyne said.
“His ball use is just pure, so highest-rated player for the weekend.
“Best ball user for the weekend was also Nasiah (Wanganeen-Milera), so well done there!”
