Cam Luke & David Taggart have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Sandown & Canterbury in a bid to find the family some winners.

SANDOWN
Race 4 | 8. Cinematic Star
Didn’t handle slop last start and is bound to improve on drier track. Back to 1300m (1600m) blinkers on, inside gate and Shinn, I expect this horse to box seat today. Is well weighted considering she did best home Silver Cliff earlier this year (1/2 length give or take). It’s an open race but with a smidge of luck and with this jockey/trainer crew I expect a big bounce back and a win.
Race 7 | 6. New Sovereign
Comes out of the right races last prep for this level. Had jumped out ok and the 1400m kick off is the similar to last prep (1321 gate bad) Shinn has form on him and he will have a lovely speed map from that gate where he can lead but at a minimum dictate OSL but I’d suggest he’ll find the rail pretty easy. No major rain another tick as heavy a question but that run was end of prep anyway. He will be very hard to beat!!
CANTERBURY
Race 3 | 4. Kilonova
Backed this girl first up and shadows of post etc. Will be fitter for that after controlling and drops back to 1100m which won’t hurt. She had trialled well and looked to have come back better after that debut win so I can’t jump off. Shalaa Gold is fave and drawn directly inside her so sitting OSL or even 1 out 1 back (Mal Coupe might push up from gate 4) might also work better than leading but she will need to be close. Debut was on soft so no concern there and last start was on Heavy so track won’t beat her and I’m confident nothing will.
Race 5 | 5. Mogwai (each-way)
Had no luck on straight in a much better race last start. Will camp off the speed as there are a few who will go quick and bide his team. He is a horse who can handle the chopped track and has won third up before. Clearly was working towards this distance third up and has he has come through that last race with the fitness needed he is way over the odds. Open race with a few in the quaddie but this bloke will run very well.
Race 6 | 2. Pretty Powerful
Had a track gallop first up in a much tougher race. Never ever got a chance to warm up. Has had a trial since and back a smidge in trip works. Has won second up before and the soft poses no concern. There is a bit of speed including fav (Metaphorically) so can speed map midfield and allow La Roja to take him into the race. Big chance.

SANDOWN
Race 3 | 2. Takeko
Resumes off two very nice trials. She showed ability last prep and she will bounce on the bunny and try and lead all the way.
Race 4 | 3. Silver Cliff
Is in rare form and is looking to win three in a row. Stays in the same grade as when she won last start and I think this looks a bit easier on paper. Always difficult to know where she will get in the run though.
Race 6 | 2. Bewitchery
Finds her race here dropping back from open 3yo company to this fillies BM64. Draws perfect down on the inside to either control the race or box seat. Loses nothing with Shinn taking the reins but does have to carry weight.
Race 7 | 6. New Sovereign
Resumes and has looked very good at his jump outs. Shinn gets back on board and is looking for his third win on him from as many rides. Draws well conditions suit and this is his pet trip.
CANTERBURY
Race 3 | 2. Shalaa Gold
Resumes and he finally won a race before seeing the paddock which is good as you have to take him on trust. Won a recent trial and he will put himself into the race. Has to go close.
