The countdown is on for the All Blacks' first Test match of 2024, where they will go up against England at a sold-out Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday.
World Rugby's most recent rankings place New Zealand third, while the English are fifth - current Rugby World Cup holders South Africa are top following last year's 12-11 decider against the All Blacks.
One man who knows how to win in the black jersey against England is one of the greatest to ever represent New Zealand and to lead the All Blacks, Richie McCaw.
Out of his 148 Test matches, McCaw was the captain for 110 of them, starting in 2004 against Wales before taking on the responsibility on a permanent basis from 2006. During that time, he won the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and successfully helped New Zealand defend the Webb Ellis Cup in 2015.
Come kick-off, the All Blacks will begin a new era of leadership - both in the coaches box with Scott Robertson overseeing what unfolds, while Scott Barrett takes on the captaincy full-time.
In this interview with SENZ's Scotty & Izzy, McCaw speaks on a number of topics in the leadup to that clash, including: his captaincy and sharing leadership advice with Barrett, playing a Northern Hemisphere powerhouse like England, the importance of trusting your playmakers, plus his thoughts on the current administrative state of New Zealand Rugby.
