Voss: Does there need to be more scrutiny on Trent Robinson?

Should Trent Robinson be under more scrutiny for his coaching performance this season?
That was the question that Andrew Voss would debate Matt Russell on following the Roosters' 30-34 loss to the Melbourne Storm on Thursday night at Allianz Stadium.
This sees the Tricolours remain outside of the top eight and could potentially be four points away from eighth place by the end of the round.
As a result of the loss, Voss questioned whether there should be more scrutiny and pressure on the Roosters coach, who has been in charge for 13 seasons.
“Does there need to be more scrutiny? Does there need to be more pressure (on Robinson)?” Voss pondered on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“As it stands now and without apology, bring in the Tigers, Benji Marshall cops plenty (of criticism).
“The Roosters have only won one more game than the Tigers this year.
“But this is the alarming stat now after last night. Now they played really well last night, so I feel a little hypocritical to criticise with the body still being warm from the game last night.
“But the facts are the facts. They have now only won one of their last 13 games against the Storm, and they’ve only won one of their last 12 games against Penrith.
“That means under Trent Robinson in the biggest of games, they’ve won two games, and they have lost 23.
“That’s such a large base to make an opinion that they can’t beat them, they can’t win a comp if they can’t beat those two sides.”
But Russell was quick to disagree with Voss, pointing out that he wasn’t the only coach with a poor win-loss record against the Melbourne Storm coach.
“If you use numbers as an argument, Wayne Bennett against Craig Bellamy is 10 and 34,” Russell detailed.
“Wayne Bennett is regarded as the greatest. He’s 10 wins and 34 losses against Craig Bellamy, so do we sack Wayne Bennett?
“Do we end his career?”
“Well, I counter that,” Voss interjected.
“Wayne Bennett has moved club to club, Trent Robinson hasn’t.”
The Roosters coach has been one of the most successful in club history. In the 13 seasons he has been in charge, he has won three premierships and amassed 205 wins at a 62% win rate.
The Roosters’ next clash is up against the 7th-placed Manly Sea-Eagles at Brookvale Oval next Saturday night, which has important finals implications for both teams.
