Tuesday best bets from Luke & Brown (14/04)
Cam Luke & Campbell Brown have your Tuesday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Donald, Hawkesbury, Townsville & Ballina to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
DONALD
Race 2 | 4. Boggy Creek Boys
This race is a little meh and this bloke probably shouldn’t be here as he was both unlucky on track and in the stewards room last start! JH will need to be proactive early from the outside draw but it's not a race with a huge amount of seed so with a little luck he should be ok to get across. Second day at the track and the added experience and the extra fitness while back a touch in trip will help when going forward and he won't be a maiden after today. I have doubled him up with my other best in R6 Silvasista ($6 double).
Race 3 | 10. Blue Valentine (each-way)
Was a little plain on debut at Kyneton but on second look I can see why. Didn’t quite understand what to do when speed went on and lost momentum having a look around! Didn’t jump all that well and had to be hustled a little so hopefully experience helps her jump cleaner. That would allow her to control this race from a nice gate. She trialled really well and extra fitness while staying at the 1200m I think is a smart move. She is way over the odds here and a great each way play.
Race 6 | 2. Silvasista
Forget last start in a harder race where she never got into it when going back to last in Adelaide and nothing ran on! Her run before that is the form reference for this. Beat home Storm Leopard when chasing home Salty Pearl. She gets the blinkers on so HC going back on I like as he rode her well two back and as she will need to find a backside when getting into a groove first time over a staying trip. Good track is when she is at her best and it looks like she needs the distance if she relaxes she will be too classy here!
HAWKESBURY
Race 2 | 10. Royal Botanic
Has trialled up a bunch for it's debut and all have been really good. Is drawn perfectly and the jockey trainer combo is flying. The 1100 feels right for the kick off. Smoke N Darts is the danger as he was pretty good on debut but I'm leaving the fave Peleus out of the EQ even though this is easier than Rosehill but he has been meh albeit new stable. I like the debutant to run well and prove to be classy in a well placed race.
Race 5 | 9. Azure Angel
I know, I know, 'barrier win races' David Taggart but I'm going to ignore the Captain here as she will go back anyway and the speed (Autumn Blonde/Tessy Tee/Tango On) should be decant enough. She was really good at Newcastle in a race that was stronger than this and up a smidge in trip will help. She hit a flat spot that day so up in trip helps (1400 will feel even better next start). She enjoys the firm going , her home track should suit her and she will be might hard to hold out late.
BALLINA
Race 4 | 4. Critical Time
Was pretty good resuming in a nice race and this is gettable. Drawn perfectly to be prominent and follow the fence. Runs well second up and staying at the 1000 gives the fitness edge over the two main challengers (Prestige and Que). Handles the good track and he will hopefully box seat and with even luck will be very hard to hold out!
Race 5 | 5. O'caldino
On the quick back up and down a bit in trip will suit him. He is drawn to do no work and I cant see him being too annoyed in front. Good track is too his liking and the setup works. My only concern is the 1-22, he runs well a lot of the time but cant get the head down. He gets all the favours today to change that!!

Campbell Brown
DONALD
Race 2 | 4. Boggy Creek Boys
Certainty beat on debut at Warrnambool two and a half weeks ago. Got held up badly late and once clear flashed for second beaten a head. With even luck today he wins. $2.45.
HAWKESBURY
Race 3 | 2. Superata
Six placings from 10 starts suggests he's due. Should get run of the race from a good draw. Doesn't have to beat much today. $2.50.
TOWNSVILLE
Race 3 | 1. Roweiner's Dance
Has won three in a row and loves a soft track. While has to lug top weight that shouldn't be a problem. Will jump and run and be the horse to catch $2.45.
BALLINA
Race 3 | 1. Resurrected
Good win last start on a heavy track. Is fit and has my favourite jockey on-board. Will be right in the finish $3.30.
