Trade talk: Contracted Blue βno certaintyβ to be at Carlton next year

Blake Acres could quite possibly be a player to watch this trade period.
Despite being contracted with Carlton until the end of 2027, there is a chance the 29-year-old could end up at a fourth AFL club.
SENβs Tom Morris suggests that the former St Kilda and Fremantle wingman is a possibility to move on from the Blues at seasonβs end with some rival clubs showing interest.
βBlake Acres is a talking point and heβs a talking point because he has two years remaining on his contract,β Morris said on SEN Mornings.
βHe had a fantastic 2023, heβs already been at three clubs. Heβs no certainty to be at the Blues next year.
βI think the Blues are aware of the fact that thereβs some interest out there for him. I think heβs got interest in playing senior football elsewhere.
βI also think rival clubs are keen to talk to him and find out whether he can fit in. Iβm not suggesting heβs going to be a world-beater wherever the goes, but getting a 29-year-old who has been largely injury-free - aside from one pre-season - who can play both a defence and attacking wing role bodes well.
βDonβt be surprised if Blake Acres comes up in trade discussions at the end of the year and donβt be surprised if he finds a fourth club which is remarkable.β
Acres was drafted by St Kilda in 2013 before playing 75 games for the Saints. He moved to Fremantle in late 2019 and played 45 games for the Dockers.
Since shifting to Carlton in late 2023, Acres has played 62 games in navy blue including 14 in 2025.
