Tom Morris’ massive trade update on 25 AFL players
SEN’s Tom Morris has rung the trade bell.
Morris provided an update on no less than 25 players on SEN Mornings on Tuesday.
Read his thoughts below:

Jack Silvagni (Carlton)
“So, Jack Silvagni looks like he’s heading to Collingwood. A four-year deal from Carlton might not be enough to hold him. The Blues would get an end of first round or start of second round draft pick.
“In addition to the Tom De Koning first-rounder, which would come after Hawthorn’s first selection, it gives the Blues some draft capital again. And a chance to reset and reboot.”
Blake Acres, Harry McKay & Sam Walsh (Carlton)
“There are other question marks about Carlton.
“Clubs are looking at Blake Acres. Harry McKay’s name continues to get mentioned - I have my eye on the Swans for him - and Sam Walsh is an attractive proposition as a pre-agent.
“But the Blues are unstable and that’s why these names are being mentioned.
“Rivals feeding on the carcass of a struggling club is as old as the game itself.”
Clayton Oliver, Bayley Fritsch & Jake Lever (Melbourne)
“Similarly, significant change is coming at Melbourne on and off the field.
“Clayton Oliver’s huge salary works against him now if he wants to leave, which I believe he still does. There’s Bayley Fritsch and even Jake Lever there too. They’re two players to keep an eye on.”
Rowan Marshall (St Kilda)
“I’m convinced Geelong will ramp up its pursuit of Rowan Marshall once TDK confirms he’s off to Moorabbin.
“And Marshall did nothing to dispel this yesterday when he was asked about his future:
“This is going to sound so cliche but I haven’t really given it too much thought,” he told reporters.
“There’s four games left, I’m employed by the St Kilda Football Club to rock up each week and perform. That’s just my sole focus at the minute.
“I just want to finish the season well with a strong patch of form and go into next year.”
“That’s the voice of someone who is clearly looking ahead without actually looking ahead. You can understand why he answered the way he did.
“Geelong are circling there and if TDK comes I would still be surprised if Rowan Marshall was at the club next year. What the Saints ask for is the big question, and that’s probably the only stumbling block.”
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (St Kilda)
“Speaking of St Kilda, not even those closest to Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera know what he’s doing next. Not even his best friends know.
“Adelaide and Port Adelaide don’t either. It doesn’t bode well for the Saints, but we can’t be sure.
“It will be fun to see how the deal gets done if it is Port, given they don’t have one first or second-rounder and Wanganeen-Milera is probably worth (conservatively) two top 10 picks and another in the teens.
“He’s worth three first-rounders the way he’s playing.”
Zak Butters (Port Adelaide)
“Clubs like Hawthorn and the Dogs may have a dart at Zak Butters as a pre-agent, but I still think it’s more likely he goes at the end of 2026 rather than 2025.”
__Some others to keep an eye on…__
Ned Reeves (Hawthorn) & Sam Draper (Essendon)
“What does the contracted Ned Reeves do now Lloyd Meek has signed for four years? The ruck carousel is in full swing, with Sam Draper weighing up more money and the prospect of immediate success in Brisbane versus his growing interests outside footy with podcasts and the like in Melbourne.
“I think it’s more likely he goes to Brisbane than stays at Essendon. And given he’s not in the top 10% of paid players at Essendon anymore, the Bombers can’t match the deal. He’s an unrestricted free agent which will give Essendon a fifth pick in the top 25 of this year’s fairly weak draft, according to the experts.”
James Worpel (Hawthorn) & Brandon Starcevich (Brisbane)
“James Worpel and Geelong is growing legs too, while free agent Brandon Starcevich and West Coast is on the table.”
Malcolm Rosas Jnr, Alex Davies & Ben King (Gold Coast)
“Malcolm Rosas Junior and Alex Davies at Gold Coast are likely to seek new homes and more senior opportunities at season’s end. They’re both contracted.
“Ben King is adamant he wants to be at the Suns next year and won’t seek a trade earlier. He does like it up there, he enjoys playing for Damien Hardwick and the Suns.
“There’s also no immediate prospect of extending him beyond 2025. I understand Hardwick likes him but doesn’t yet love him as a player. So, his value is probably higher for a rival in 12 months’ time than what it is currently for the Suns.
“He is one we’re all keeping an eye on.”
Harley Reid (West Coast)
“Then there is Harley Reid, who may have played his last game for West Coast. Though his Instagram caption last night which finished ‘we’ll keep building together’ bodes well for the Eagles.
“As I’ve said before, this is reaching the pointy end either way. He’ll either sign soon or seek a trade. He won’t go into the last year of his contract at the Eagles without a deal beyond that. His management won’t do that to him.
“A decision is imminent at some stage in the next month.”
Oscar Allen & Liam Ryan (West Coast)
“Still at the Eagles, Oscar Allen is off to Brisbane as a free agent and contracted premiership player Liam Ryan has interest from Victorian clubs. I’m looking at Essendon and St Kilda with Ryan, who is open to a move, but he is contracted so a deal has to be done.”
Darcy Cameron (Collingwood)
“Then there is Darcy Cameron at Collingwood who is contracted but he is being paid money that equates to a second banana ruck. Which is what he signed for when Brodie Grundy was at the club. He’s now the number one ruck and probably in the All-Australian squad conversation.
“He needs to be paid more, it’s just what that number is. Collingwood have the ball in their court because he’s contracted but it doesn’t mean he won’t walk in at the end of the year and ask for a trade if big-money offers are coming for him elsewhere.”
Elijah Tsatas & Ben Hobbs (Essendon)
“I think Elijah Tsatas is every chance to be at another club next year. High draft pick who just hasn’t nailed his spot in Essendon’s best team.
“I think Ben Hobbs is every chance to have a look around as well. How he finishes the season will be interesting. I’m not sure any decision has been made but I’d keep an eye on him.”
Jade Gresham & Archie Perkins (Essendon)
“Also keeping a close eye on Jade Gresham and Archie Perkins at the Bombers as well. They could have a seriously impressive suite of draft picks, similar to Richmond’s last year.”
