Miles Pfitzner & Cam Luke have your Thursday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Moe, Gosford & Bathurst in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Miles Pfitzner
MOE
Race 4 | 4. Buzitup
I’m doing all my damage at Moe today and starts with race 4, shown more than the form reads with not a huge amount of luck in transit both starts. Draws OK blinkers back on and last 200m last start was seventh fastest of the meeting. Soft maiden.
Race 6 | 2. Electric Tommy
Ticked the maiden box here last year nicely, then bobbed up at Cranbourne and heavily supported as $2.15 fav in a BM64 in Jan. Gate tricky today but this is a really weak BM58.
Race 7 | 4. Miss Cotoletta
Go back through the form of this nag and it picks itself, last prep three runs all in a lot I mean a lot stronger grade than this, has won here and doesn’t mind sting out of the ground. Probably the best on the card soft draw. Ticks everywhere.
Race 9 | 1. Mishare
Belted them in a BM64 back in May freshen then last start still finished with the fastest last 200m of anything in the race of a fast tempo. Back in grade. Tick tick. Boom. Let’s go again.
Cam Luke
MOE
Race 3 | 5. Verhoeven
This horse can find an excuse and even though this is a decent race today is his day. Soft track is what he needs and probation should have won at Geelong last start. Ben Allen is flying and from that gate won’t have any issue getting in a perfect spot!
Race 7 | 4. Miss Cotoletta
Wetter the better for this girl and has jumped out well. Ignore first up form as one was debut the other was on a much better race in town. I expect a fair bit of speed out wide (Supervise) so hopefully MC can jump well and sit right on back of leader preferably off the fence. She is better than these coming out of tougher races last prep and with a smidge of luck will be too classy!
Race 8 | 3. Lunar Powered
Gate a little tricky but horse likes to ease back anyway so cover the only question and with some speed I think he’ll be ok. Tougher races than this last couple and fitter again off that 2500m race will help! Hasn’t seen a soft 7 before but Mick Kent has his horses always up for a fight and I don’t expect he won’t be able to handle it in a race full of stayers. Toughest and fittest horse wins these races normally and I expect it to be these bloke!
GOSFORD
Race 5 | 3. Loose Love
Back to the mile after a good run over 1900m last start. This is a slight bit easier and there is speed so won’t be a sit and sprint race which suits LL. Soft track a plus and a deteriorating track would help even more!! Last time over the 1600m ran second in the Parkes Cup and that form stacks up here!! Sonofdec is going to stalk the speed from that gate and was good last start at Newcastle and is my other one in the quaddie.
Race 6 | 1. Like Lukey
Back to easier race and I like the set up here! Gets to the 1600m third up which are both ticks! Soft track is a bonus and she will go back from that gate but little bit of speed and a small field it won’t hurt! Aroha Stone deserves fave and will control the race and first time at the mile shouldn’t be an issue but I’ve got LL being too strong late! Those are the two only in the quaddie.
BATHURST
Race 5 | 4. Straight Fire
Drawn perfectly to sit on box off what might be a middles tempo. Here to the 2000m for the first time but I doubt that’s an issue, especially with the fact I don’t think they’ll break any records. Dropped down in class last start and was impressive and again this is very similar race. Toe into the ground helps and Jean Van Overmeire stays on which I like. Will be very hard to beat!
