Miles Pfitzner
SALE
Race 3 | 12. Tamahine
This horse should find its race today on a heavy deck. Two back very good at the Bool where beaten $1.55! Went to Sandown and went under in a much harder affair. Out in the sticks, wet deck. Jump lead win.
GOSFORD
Race 4 | 2. Golden Smile
Had a few chances this horse but out to a trip now I think will suit. Broke the maiden nicely at Newcastle on wet ground before heading to town and being outclassed. Finds a weak enough class 1 here with not many to challenge. On the bunny again and should be too strong.
Race 5 | 1. Unusual Prospect
Have been with this horse both career starts and I’m on again. Hopefully get something around even money. It’s two starts showed me enough that it can win a few. Trial ok and weak 1600m meters maiden with sting out suits.
NORTHAM
Race 1 | 4. Cassenite
Tried to find one at Northam and ended up here. Record doesn’t look great but the run two back filled me with some hope against The Calabrese at Belmont. That form franked and has the finish if there is some speed on to run over the top of these.
Cam Luke
SALE
Race 3 | 10. House Of Lords
Hit a little flat spot over 1300m on debut when having a look round and expect improvement second time up as well as getting to the 1400m. She hit the line really well running past her only danger today in Tamahine. Being a Kiwi and she trailed over there I expect her to be able to handle the soft track.
Race 6 | 4. Samurai
Gate is a little sticky but Logan Bates is riding so well at the moment I expect him to be able to find cover! This bloke is building towards 1600m this prep and always runs well third up! Cocobill is your fav and that's based on the nice win a couple ago at Cranbourne and he will control the race but I wonder if he is looking for a tad further now after he was pretty disappointing in town last start, albeit in a tougher race but it’s the Sword for me!
Race 8 | 1. De Bergerac
Trialled up well and jumped out even better and always run well first up! Soft track is an advantage and this is easier than what he was contesting last prep including a very nice run on Geelong Cup day. He’ll be able to sit 1 out 1 back or three pairs with some speed engaged wider and have the crack late and win!
GOSFORD
Race 6 | 6. Covert Thinking
Was five weeks between runs last start before the maiden win and expect quicker turnaround to help here. Got zero weight due to claim and is drawn nice enough to maybe be closer if wanted. Wet track no concern and expect her to be too classy. Her main danger is Tip Top Timing. This is easier than last start, he is better deeper he goes into a prep (fourth today) and the more chopped the track the better. He doesn’t have the scope Covert Thinking has but a similar effort today will have him close so include him in your quaddie at the very least!
BALLINA
Race 6 | 7. Under The Palais
Heavy track and back up to 1400m tripled with easier than last start works a treat! Was solid through the line at Doomben and I like the quick back up! Heavy track better than all in the field and a little question over Yalla who has never been on slop and is early fav! $3.60 this morning is overs and I expect to start with a two and fave!
