“They are a force”: David King labels flying Crows outfit a premiership threat
The Adelaide Crows are off to a flying start in 2025, claiming two wins from two matches by an average margin of 62 points.
Following a rather disappointing 15th place finish in 2024, the Crows look a different outfit to commence this season, cruising to victory against both St Kilda and Essendon across their opening fixtures.
Their commanding performance against the Bombers on Saturday - when they kicked 25.11.(161) - was enough to convince David King that Matthew Nicks' Adelaide side should be seen as premiership contenders.

“They are a force,” King told SEN Breakfast.
“Everybody is talking about Sam Darcy today and Riley Thilthorpe will just go under the radar.
“I think it was the ultimate flex to the opposition team to take Izak Rankine off mid third quarter. That is a statement."
The Crows put up some astonishing numbers, headlined by a score of 161 points through 12 different goal scorers, with 109 of those scores spawning from turnover.
Adelaide finished the contest +70 in marks, +15 in inside 50s and +12 in tackles despite also leading the disposal count.
Jordan Dawson led the midfield with 33 touches and five clearances, while Ben Keays and Josh Rachele booted four goals each.
“They are a contender, the Crows," King continued.
"Only good teams do what they have done over the last fortnight.
“This season, everything is about damage. It’s not really about volume, what you are doing or how much ball you are getting, it’s about getting it on the scoreboard.
“I’m in love with their back six. Everyone talks about forward of the ball and we talk a lot about Rankine.
“They have got those wildcard types that just do things a bit differently. (Max) Michalanney is a different sort of mover. (Mitchell) Hinge is a different sort of mover. You can see them getting thrown into the middle on occasions.
“I think that we are going to have some fun with the Crows in the next few weeks.”
Four of the Crows' next six contests take place at the Adelaide Oval, commencing with the Kangaroos this Sunday.
