The reason behind Bryce Cotton's historic NBL streak

Bryce Cotton was asked one question, "what's changed?" His answer: "my gratitude".
A rib injury earlier in the season that most thought would set the four-time MVP back has only given him a clear pathway to produce historic performances.
In his last four games, Cotton has scored 40+ points, joining NBL legends Al Green and Andrew Gaze as the only players to achieve that feat. The last time a player scored 40+ points in four consecutive games was Gaze in 1991.
Cotton has explained the spark behind his hot streak was his recovery from the serious rib injury he suffered in Round 5.
"I keep going back to the injury, being out for a month or so. Having time to really dive into my own mind, I'm a chronic overthinker but I think this time it did me some justice," Cotton said on NBL Now.
"It allowed me to approach the game a little bit differently, having more gratitude every time I step out on the floor. If anything's changed I would just say that, my gratitude of being on the floor has gone through the roof."
The 32-year-old was out for four weeks, but since returning, he has hit new heights.
"What I'm doing right now..this is another level I've taken it to," Cotton said.
"To be playing ball this long in life and still finding new levels to take it too is great. But I never want to be complacent."
The Wildcats take on the ladder-leading Illawarra Hawks on Sunday at 2:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and Channel 10.
