The "most bizarre" on-field comment bewildering Kane Cornes
Sydney’s win over Port Adelaide produced a number of talking points, with the Swans potentially reviving their season and the Power failing to capitalise on their momentum, however it was a post-game interview that sparked Kane Cornes’ interest.
Following the Swans’ 19-point win in Adelaide, star midfielder Isaac Heeney was pulled aside for an interview with Fox Footy’s Shaun Burgoyne, revealing a strange comment made to him by an opposition player within the contest.

“I was expecting a pretty hard tag,” Heeney revealed following his 28-disposal, two-goal outing.
"He came to me but then he said he was pretty crook, so it was nice to get a bit of freedom throughout the night.”
The player who many think told Heeney that – Port Adelaide’s Miles Bergman – was unable to contain the superstar, while amounting just 14 touches at poor efficiency.
“This is the most bizarre thing I have heard, certainly this season, from an opposition player,” Cornes told SEN Fireball.
“I don’t know why I got so angry. Maybe because I played that role for a long period of time and I was so methodical in not giving the opposition an inch.
“I used to hate it when sometimes there would be leaks about who you are going to tag prior to the game. It used to get me so angry, and if a player wanted to shake hands before a game, you would never give your opponent an inch.
“Could you imagine going to your opponent, probably to the best player on the ground or certainly one of the best three players in the ground in Isaac Heeney and saying to him ‘hey mate, I’m a bit under the weather today. You can have a good day today, I’m feeling sick’.
“I can’t believe it. Am I overreacting here? ‘He told me he was a bit crook, so it was nice to get some freedom today’. How does that… do that after (the game)!
“I just think it sums up the lack of resilience at the footy club. Maybe it’s the new world, maybe that’s just the way the new players adapt and that’s the way they communicate on ground, but I wouldn’t be copping that.”
Now sitting in 12th place with the fifth lowest percentage in the competition, Port Adelaide will be desperate to claim a result against the struggling Blues on Thursday night.
