The horse to beat in the 2025 Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes

The Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes for the three-year-olds will be run over 1200m at Flemington on Saturday.
Switzerland won last year’s edition after Ozzmosis (2023), In Secret (2022), Home Affairs (2021) and September Run (2020) before him.
Snapshot of the race below:
It feels the horse to beat is BEIWACHT, given that he has drawn an outside barrier (10) - a gate which should suit him down the Flemington straight.
Additionally, the son of Bivouac has had an unreal preparation so far including a four-length victory in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m), where the colt broke the track record.
Now being fourth-up, the emerging Chris Waller star appears to be excellently prepped for the Group 1 sprint.
While many are with fellow Godolphin colt TENTYRIS, I can't share that same excitement.
Yes, he will be bolting home as he always does, however the chestnut has a tendency of slightly falling behind before making his rapid sprint home - if that happens in this race then his jolt home may not be enough to win.
He will be around the placings, but may run out of room and time to win.
BEADMAN and RAGING FORCE will also be around the placings and both are serious dangers to Beiwacht.
Beadman was badly held up in his last start at 1200m before sprinting home in style to just lose by 0.2 lengths.
If the Peter Snowden-trained colt can get some space in front of him - which he should - he could prove very hard to beat.
Raging Force is also coming off a narrow 0.4 length loss to Tentyris in the Gothic (1200m), and you would assume with more fitness under his belt, the gelding will improve off the back of that run.
While this Coolmore is wide open, expect Beiwacht to take out the Group 1, especially if he runs to the abilty which he showed us in the Golden Rose.
