SENΒ β’ Β June 9th, 2025 11:34 am

The Fireball team have pulled together their top five team and player rankings.
Kane Cornes and David King rated in order from 1 to 5 the teams who are in best shape for a premiership tilt on SEN's Fireball.
See the Fireball Five below:
Cornes' 5 teams
1 - Brisbane
2 - Collingwood
3 - Geelong
βThe Cats just continually defy the odds.β
4 - Gold Coast
5 - Hawthorn
King's 5 teams
1 - Geelong
βThereβs been a shift. Iβm really warming to the Cats.
βWhen you see Tom Stewart and Jack Henry in that backline, it looks bulletproof.β
2 - Collingwood
βI know Collingwood are playing some great footy but Iβm flipping it with the Cats at 1.β
3 - Brisbane
4 - Adelaide
5 - Hawthorn
They also powered ranked the best players in the competition.
Cornes' 5 players
1 - Sam Darcy (Western Bulldogs)
βHe is the best player in the comp. Sam Darcy is the best player in football.β
2 - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
3 - Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
βNo discussion needed. Heβs flying.
βFor me, he is the third best player in the comp right now.β
4 - Sam Taylor (GWS)
βHe played footballβs equivalent of perfection on the weekend. Iβm not sure you can play better.
βIβm really comfortable with him at four.β
5 - Kysaiah Pickett (Melbourne)
βWith what he is doing in the role that he is playing and how important he is.
βHe is a real point of difference to this league and his team.β
King's 5 players
1 - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
βI think he is the best player in the comp.β
2 - Jordan Dawson (Adelaide)
βI think heβs had a huge year.β
3 - Bailey Smith (Geelong)
βHis season has just been ridiculous. No one expected him to go to this level.
βHis gut-running sets the scene for the competition.β
4 - Tristan Xerri (North Melbourne)
βI think heβs at that level now. Heβs a beast. Heβs the premier ruckman in the competition.
βWhat heβs doing in a team thatβs underperforming has to be recognised.β
5 - Hugh McCluggage (Brisbane)
βItβs about time the competition recognised Hugh McCluggage.
βHeβs been put in All-Australian squads and then disregarded from the team. I think this man is a top-liner in our competition.β
