The astonishing numbers surrounding record-breaker Jack Crisp

Collingwood star Jack Crisp is set to break Jim Stynes’ record of 244 consecutive V/AFL games when he takes the field against Geelong on Saturday night.
While his brilliance might occasionally fly under the radar of some footy fans due to the Magpies' star power, Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne is in awe of his career.
Crisp joined the Pies from Brisbane prior to the 2015 season and has been a model of consistency ever since.
“Our rating system… it's about impact, not necessarily volume… Crisp has been one of our pin-up examples for our rating system for the last 10 years,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.
“Since he's arrived at Collingwood… he's the 17th best player in the competition.
“And think back of the names that we've had in our competition over that last 10-year period. To be inside the top 20 in the competition in that time has been brilliant.
“Scott Pendlebury will go down as no doubt a legend of Collingwood, potentially a legend of our game.
“(Crisp is) the second highest rated player for Collingwood over the last 10 years.”
Hoyne had some more astonishing numbers up his sleeve to put Crisp’s efforts, particularly in September, into perspective.
“The last 10 years, our top three finals players – Dustin Martin, number one, Jack Crisp, number two, Luke Hodge, number three.”
“That's the company that this guy is in, in the biggest moments of our game for the last 10 years.”
The Magpies will meet the Cats on Saturday night at the MCG, where Crisp will play his 245th consecutive game, dating back to 2014 where he played the last six games of the season for the Lions.
