The 7 players who will drive Port Adelaide’s improvement in 2025

Mark Bickley has identified seven players he believes can help Port Adelaide improve in 2025.
The two-time Adelaide premiership captain was assessing the Power’s list to see who can fill the void left by Dan Houston, who moved to Collingwood, the retirement of Charlie Dixon and Todd Marshall’s achilles injury.
Throw in injured midfielder Zak Butters and there are a few gaps that Ken Hinkley needs to fill.
“We know they’ve lost Houston, we know Charlie Dixon has been amazing, Todd Marshall is not going to be there much this year,” he said on SEN SA Breakfast.
“That means you need a number of players to stand up. I think Port have got players with genuine upside.”
See Bickley’s seven Port players below:
Miles Bergman
“I think Miles Bergman will have a really good year this year.
“He’s primed, he’s played enough footy now to have the confidence in himself to become that real intercepting player across half-back.
“I think he’s going to play on some of the almost key position players, but that gives him a licence once the ball hits the ground to take off.”
Logan Evans
“I was so impressed by his composure and everything that he did since arriving in the team halfway through last year.
“I think he’ll improve.”
Jase Burgoyne
“He was their best player in a big final against Hawthorn.
“He has that composure as well. I’m hoping he can take his game to the next level.”
Sam Powell-Pepper
“He’s one of the real barometers of Port Adelaide.
“He wasn’t there at all last year.”
Joe Berry and Joe Richards
“Berry and Richards across half-forward, I think they’ll give Port Adelaide a little bit of extra bite.”
Jordon Sweet
“The one who is ready for a real breakout year is Jordon Sweet.
“I think he can become one of the top five ruckmen in the competition. He’s not far off that.
“They are the players who I think can improved markedly and that is what’s going to be needed to replace the players who have left as well as a couple of first-choice players who are unavailable.”
The Power meet St Kilda in the AAMI Community Series at RSEA Park on Saturday before setting their sights on their Round 1 clash with Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday, March 15.
