TEAMS | No. 1 pick among three Tiger debutants as SSP Blue gets his chance

The teams are officially in for the Round 1 blockbuster between Richmond and Carlton at the MCG on Thursday night.
The Tigers have named three debutants for their season-opener, with No. 1 pick Sam Lalor named up forward despite suffering a fractured jaw in last month’s scratch match against West Coast.
He’s joined by fellow first-round picks Luke Trainor (pick 21) and Harry Armstrong (pick 23) who have also been named.
As for Carlton, Charlie Curnow sits out Round 1, but Sam Walsh has gotten up to play after overcoming a hamstring.
SSP forward Francis Evans, off-season addition Nick Haynes and father-son draftee Lucas Camporeale will also play for the first time in Navy Blue.
