Adam Simpson and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 7 of 2026.
Simpson and Whateley will each rank the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.
The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.
See the seedings below:
SIMPSON
1 - Sydney
2 - Hawthorn
3 - Fremantle
4 - Brisbane
“They've just slipped into fourth for me. I'm going off of this year, and I still don't think they've given the consistency.
“Their best is pretty good.”
WHATELEY
1 - Brisbane
“I had a lot of whining Swans supporters last week going 'why aren't we in number one?'
“Go and watch the third quarter of the Brisbane Lions. That's why. That's the benchmark.
“Brisbane are the rightful one seed, and I suspect will be for most of the year.”
2 - Sydney
3 - Hawthorn
“It's toss of the coin between Sydney and Hawthorn, and when they met, Hawthorn won.
“Counterintuitively, I'm going to put Hawthorn at three and Sydney at two.”
4 - Fremantle
“I have put Fremantle in as the results offered me the chance to do that.
“I'm not falling over myself for Fremantle.”
