Former Silver Ferns coach Yvonne Willering has slammed Netball NZ for their handling of the shock removal of Dame Noeline Taurua and her coaching group
As first reported by Sport Nation on Wednesday, Dame Noeline and assistant coach Debbie Fuller have been stood down indefinitely from her role as head coach for the upcoming Taini Jamison Series after pressure from the playing group, many of whom have reached boiling point with the veteran's "old school approaches".
Willering, who represented New Zealand before moving into head coach from 1997-2001 questioned the timing of the announcement - just weeks out from their Tests against the Proteas and the Constellation Cup - given the issues that had clearly been festering for a significant period.
