Sidelined Bulldog pair suffer significant recovery setbacks
AFL.com.au journalist and SEN regular Josh Gabelich has provided injury updates on two vital Bulldogs, with reports suggesting the pair both suffered setbacks in their respective recoveries.
All-Australian midfielder Adam Treloar was absent from the Bulldogs’ 10-point loss to the Suns in Darwin, just one week following his return from a calf concern that ruled him out for the first seven weeks of the season.
Taking to the field for the first time this year, the 32-year-old collected 27 disposals and kicked a goal on return, however despite getting through the contest unscathed, Treloar experienced further calf soreness mid-week.

“He had this issue late last week, pulled up with tightness on Thursday,” Gabelich reported on SEN Fireball.
“They flew out to Darwin on Thursday afternoon, so they left him here.
“He had scans, it is a one to two weeker. They have got the bye in Round 12 so most likely we don’t see him until after that bye.
“They’ve got two games before then, Essendon on Saturday night, we won’t see him in that game, then Geelong in Geelong on the Thursday night, probably becomes a bit of a tight turnaround factoring the bye.
“We probably won’t see him until Round 13. It has been a frustrating start to 2025 for him, just the one game to date after a wiped-out preseason.”
Beyond Adam Treloar, livewire Cody Weightman is yet to take to the field within this campaign.
The 24-year-old went under the knife in February to mend a genetic knee concern, however his recovery has not gone to plan.
Gabelich has reported that the forward may not feature within 2025 as he continues to battle the congenital condition.
“Cody Weightman is the other one, don’t expect to see him again this year,” he continued.
“He had a routine scan last week that revealed more damage in his knee cap.
“(He) has not got going at all, and they’re bracing now to be without him for the duration of the season.
“Put a line through him.”
In 2024, Weightman was crucial for the Dogs in the forward half, averaging 11 disposals and kicking 27 goals in just 17 games.
Despite their Round 9 loss, the Bulldogs will maintain a glut of confidence as they approach their Saturday night clash with the Bombers.
