SENTrack: Thursday best bets from Cam Luke & Miles Pfitzner (20/02)
Cam Luke & Miles Pfitzner have your Thursday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Hawkesbury & Kangaroo Island in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
HAWKESBURY
Race 1 | 1. Royal Commodore
Was really impressive last start in Town after sitting 3 wide and racing keenly. This is a nice race but RC should be able to get to the rail and control the race from that gate! Idolised was huge when winning before getting tipped out and will be tough as will Peace Centre! Won nicely on debut and then went to two tougher races and trialled ok but he will be spotting RC a few lengths.
Race 2 | 7. Willie Oppa
Was pretty decent last start over 1200m and suggests the 1400m will suit here second up! Tomcat and Supreme will ensure some speed in the race which Willie needs. I am not sold on either of those running a strong 1400m. As long as as jock doesn’t end up on the fence, he can follow a horse like Elegant Artist into the race and gobble them up!!
Race 5 | 5. Sumo Star
This horse keeps showing up and running well without winning! The Midway form has been decent and a couple of those were runs without barrier luck! Drawn perfectly and Molly Bourke can box seat today! Royal Bomabdier and Run Rory will lead (and both will run well) and will go fast so expect SS to track it up! 1300m is perfect after back to 1200m last start. Not sold on the fave (Starboard), was ordinary in recent trial after not being at the races since Taggs was riding (Oct 23).
Race 7 | 8. Rapt (each-way)
I was keen on this mare at MM and she ran fairly well! This is easier but only slightly! Will get spat out the back again from that gate but I expect some speed from Magnatear (gate 12) Harlow Mist (7) (both last start great runs) and Roma Avenue (8) and therefore gives Rapt a sniff. Freshen up is perfect back to the 1400m and a good track is exactly what she needs.
KANGAROO ISLAND
Race 4 | 2. Written By You
Been running decent in slightly tougher races in Vic. Gets to a distance I think which looks like it has been needing this prep! Drawn really well so hoping it can show a little early gate speed and be a little closer in the run. Wicked Addiction the danger and should be able to lead after running pretty well here a month back.

HAWKESBURY
Race 5 | 2. Starboard
Horse resuming after a long break really like the win back at Bathurst albeit in easy company went to Newcastle and ran solidly there in a class one trials okay. This isn’t a flash race. Good draw, good stable.
Race 6 | 3. Red Hot Lizzie
A horse that doesn’t win out of turn having only won one from seven really like the last couple of runs at Warwick Farm and at Randwick particularly the Warwick Farm run where the form stacks up as we saw Don Pedro and house of cards run well yesterday, times of last few races very good each way all day.
KANGAROO ISLAND
Race 2 | 2. Miss Pantherlot
Tried to find one at Kingaroy and this looks like it travel out wouldn’t be taking this horse across the canal to go under trial very good at Morphettville runs before that in a lot better company should jump lead and win.
Race 7 | 7. In The Darkness
Happy to take on the favourite here with the Jess Tzaferis-trained and ridden In The Darkness. Last two runs in a lot better company including a run at Murray Bridge. Which was a solid form race. The last one at Strathalbyn in a 58.l was ok, but this is a lot weaker. Should get a dream run hopefully in the first few by the corner.
