MOONEE VALLEY
Race 4 | 2. Athanatos
Keeps bumping into nice horses but held up at crucial time when trying to get momentum last start and today is the day!!! Never runs poorly and sets up perfectly fourth up back at Flemington which I think will end up being his best track. Smallish field will allow him to wander over and sit close with Muffin Man the speed and can go bang! Ndola the danger but I was disappointed with him in the Guineas when he didn’t run on.
Race 5 | 9. Aramco (each-way)
The only leader in the race and will get it all his own way dropping back to the 1600m and in class. Will have no company up front and if is left alone too long they might not catch him. Got no weight on his back and firm track is perfect for him to zip along. Most certainly over the odds!!
Race 7 | 15. Vestas
Loves the Flemington straight and probably should be undefeated down it after bad luck in Cup week. Resumes off a jump out where she was handy without too much effort. Ran really well in the Sunlight as well with no major luck and should have finished closer behind a star!! Good track will suit nicely and is drawn in what recently is the best place to be down the straight.
Race 8 | 7. Atishu & 8. Zardozi (both top three)
The speed map sets up perfectly for these two. Both love Flemington and more importantly I think it’s both their Grand Final's which I can’t say for most of the other fancies. Playing it conservative but I think one of these add another Group 1.
