Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is gearing up for a huge year of tennis in 2025, with ‘The First Serve’ returning for its 17th year on air.
The show – which is the only weekly dedicated tennis program on commercial radio – will launch on Monday 27 January, at 8pm AEDT, airing across the entire SEN network and streaming via the SEN app every Monday night until November 24.
Since its debut in 2009, ‘The First Serve’ has become a cornerstone of tennis broadcasting in Australia, and 2025 will see the show break new ground with host, Brett Phillips, broadcasting live from around the globe.
SEN Group Radio Director, Sam Thompson, said: “We’re thrilled to continue bringing tennis fans closer to the game they love with ‘The First Serve’. With Brett taking the show international in 2025, we’re excited to deliver a truly unique perspective, showcasing tournaments from all corners of the globe while maintaining our strong focus on Australian tennis.”
Phillips echoed the excitement, saying: “’The First Serve’ is hitting the road in 2025, following the international tour after the Aussie summer of tennis. We’ll take fans up close and personal through South America, the United States, Europe, and Asia, crisscrossing the globe to bring you the distinctive sounds and voices of each tournament, while continuing to celebrate the game here in Australia.”
Leading into the return of ‘The First Serve’, SEN will kick off its long-standing coverage of the Australian Open from January 12 to 26, with the full broadcast team to be announced shortly.
