Papley’s hilarious response to Greene after “overweight” jibe

Toby Greene has lifted the lid on his sledge towards Tom Papley in Friday night’s GWS v Sydney derby.
Speaking to Fox Footy’s Ben Dixon as the Giants were down by 28 points at half-time, Greene fired up at the Sydney forward, saying: “He’s looking overweight, we’ll see how he goes in the second half”.
Luckily for Greene, his verbal jibe didn’t backfire on the field as the Giants kicked 12 goals to one in the second half to run out 44-point winners.
Greene also revealed that the Sydney star even had something to say while he was being interviewed by the broadcaster.
“I could hear Paps yapping away in my ear,” Greene told Ausmerican Aces.
“There was a lot going on before that moment, they were really up and about, and he’d certainly had a fair bit to say in the first half.
“I didn’t get near it, and we were playing horrible. I was pretty furious at half-time, and I saw Ben Dixon “walk towards me and I thought, ‘Don’t interview me please’.
“While they were interviewing me, you can’t really hear it but he is just ripping into me while I’m getting interviewed, and I can’t really say too much, I can’t say anything, and I can’t go back to him mid-interview.
“Dicko’s asking me questions, and I can’t concentrate, I was that angry, mate. He’s worded me up with a question about Paps, and I thought I handled it reasonably well, to be honest.
“I wasn't really going at his weight, although that's what I said. I knew he was underdone, and he probably shouldn't have been playing. So, that's kind of what I meant by the comment.
“When I said it, I was like, ‘I shouldn't have said that, that was stupid’.”
Once tensions eased after the match, Papley got in touch with Greene via Instagram, sending his opponent a cheeky message making light of the situation.
“I was sitting on the couch at midnight at home and I was watching the Tour De France, I think,” Greene said.
“Then on my Instagram it popped up that Tom Papley had messaged me, and I thought, ‘Here we go, what’s this going to be’.
“And it’s just a photo of him eating McDonald’s, it was pretty funny. I had a good laugh at it, that was good by him.
“It was pretty sharp.”
Continuing on the fun, Papley also had his skinfolds checked by a Sydney staffer on camera once back at the club on Tuesday, with the vision then presented to Greene.
