David Schwarz is expecting BIG things from Sydney star Chad Warner in Friday’s season opener against Hawthorn at the SCG.
As part of his ‘big call’ for Opening Round, Schwarz is tipping the 23-year-old to have a career game against the Hawks with a whopping 35 disposals and four goals from the midfield.
Given Warner enters 2025 out of contract, Schwarz is tipping the Swan to go to a new level as he tries to earn himself a big payday that could set him up for the rest of his career.
“I'm going straight to Chad Warner,” Schwarz told *
“I'd mentioned him before, there’s a lot on the line for Chad Warner this year.
“He's backed himself in (entering 2025 out of contract), and he's one of my favourite players in the competition.
“I think he'll have 35+ (disposals) and kick four goals. He's a star player, and I think we're going to see even bigger things this year when the dollars are on the line.
“Some of these players just seem to absolutely go to new levels (in a contract year), and I think he'll be one of them.”
Warner has had 35+ disposals once in his career. He’s also kicked four goals in a single game on the one occasion.
Friday’s game between the Swans and Hawks at the SCG begins at 7:40pm (AEDT).
