"Out of touch": Parker slams Tigers attitude
Corey Parker has slammed the Wests Tigers for their poor attitude following the khawd incident.
For those unfamiliar, the Tigers in their 28-14 win against the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon, centre Brent Naden alongside brothers Samuela and Latu Fainu flashed a ‘khawd’ when celebrating Samuela’s try in the 70th minute.
The 'khawd' is a hand gesture within the Arabic community that means "take that" or "cop that".
The NRL has now issued formal warnings following the incident, while Naden was issued a breach notice for a separate issue.
Speaking on the matter, Parker said that while he does enjoy the passion that the NRL and the Tigers create, they still need to remain humble.
“Now the Wests Tigers are a team…and I love the passion,” Parker explained on SENQ Breakfast.
“I love everything about what goes on with the NRL and teams and supporters, et cetera.
“Call me old-fashioned or out of touch, but the perceived smell that gets around with the Tigers is not a good one.
“And again, on the weekend, it’s a minor thing on the big scale of what we see.
“But the khawd showing and what was unfolded there. The NRL handed down another sanction yesterday, that you’ve got five days to have a response.
“The way they carry themselves, social media-ing, et cetera. Now, I know Benji, and I like Benji a lot.

“But there’s just this, I don’t know like a cloud that sits above them, and they’ve got a real opportunity to change that.
“I mean, Tyrell May, and again, call me old-fashioned, I could be completely out of touch and maybe I am, but turning up with a man bag and all this stuff to talk about football…I don’t know.
“Just be humble. Yes, you can express yourself, but find the time and place to do it.”
The Wests Tigers have the bye this week.
Their next clash is against the Manly Sea-Eagles at Allianz Stadium next Sunday.
