Johns: The Super League club best suited for Trbojevic
Matty Johns has named the club that he thinks would be best suited to sign Manly Sea-Eagles star Tom Trbojevic for 2027.

On Thursday, it was reported that the star fullback is unhappy with the Sea-Eagles and would leave at the end of his contract after 11 seasons of service.
If Trbojevic were to leave, he would rather head overseas and ply his trade in England than play for another NRL club.
With Super League clubs circling, bringing Trbojevic to the competition, Johns, who played one season in the competition with Wigan, believes that Sam Burgess’ Warrington Wolves would be the side most likely to attract the former NSW and Australian representative.
“I believe you get one marquee signing,” Johns said on SEN’s Morning Glory with Matty Johns.
“They’ve got a tiny salary cap. Like, if you go over there and you are not the marquee player, you are not getting much. Their salary cap has really shrunk over there.
“So, you go, what clubs could he go to?
“So, the big clubs. You’ve got Wigan, privately owned. You’ve got Warrington.
“If I’ve got a hunch of any club that if he was to go there, that would really go for him, it might be Warrington. They need something at the moment.
“You’ve got Leeds, you’ve got St Helens, but my gut feel (is that) the club that would go for him would be Warrington.”
Sitting in 8th place, the Wolves could use his star quality although he wouldn't be available till 2027.
Currently, the Wolves have former Bulldog and Dragon Matt Dufty as their starting fullback, who has scored 42 tries over the last four seasons.
But with former NSW player Paul Vaughn leaving the Wolves for next season, it means they can increase their offer to attract the 2021 Dally M Medallist to the north of England.
Another club interested in signing Trbojevic is the London Broncos, who have been recently purchased by an Australian consortium that has Brisbane Broncos legend Darren Lockyer.
They are currently in the second division of the English Rugby League Pyramid.
Trbojevic still has a year left on his current contract with Manly, which makes him available to begin negotiations from November 1.
However, Chairman Scott Penn remains hopeful that he will stay on the Northern Beaches.
"I'm sure he is on the list of R360 and a bunch of others, so it is no surprise at all," Penn said.
"I mean, I don't want him to leave."
