Parker: Walters has failed to uphold standards during Kangaroos UK Tour

Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters has raised eyebrows with his selections for the third and final Ashes Test against England at Leeds on Sunday morning.
Despite underwhelming performances in the opening two matches, Walters has resisted the calls to drop players and has named only one change with the return of captain Isaah Yeo for game three.
SEN’s Corey Parker is confused with the team for game three and believes a number of players don’t deserve to retain their position in the starting side.
“You have standards to uphold,” Parker said on SENQ Breakfast.
“When you take any field for an Australian team, you need to uphold standards.
“Would I drop players? Yes.
“You aren’t cheapening the jersey (if you select reserve players).
“If you can tell me that Gehamat Shibasaki deserves to hold his spot, I’ll deadset give it away.
“He had six runs for the whole of game two. He had seven tackles and four missed tackles.
“Kevin Walters has Bradman Best sitting in the wings. Why did you take a specialised centre on tour?
“If someone doesn’t perform or there’s an injury, he then comes in.
“Guess what? Shibasaki didn’t do his role. .
“He’s not on his own. That’s just one example. You are playing for Australia.
“Anytime I’ve played for Australia and didn’t play to your potential, you are automatically thinking someone might make a change.
“That’s how you hold the standard of the Australian jersey.”
Following the conclusion of game two, SEN’s Andrew Voss immediately called on Walters to make changes to an Australian team that weren’t living up to expectation.
“I don’t think they were that good in the first Test,” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“They were also poor in the second Test. You are entitled to make changes.
“We’ve won the Test series, give the other players a go,” SEN’s Greg Alexander responded.
“They were only a smidge behind those getting a start.”

Voss replied; “In the case of Lindsay Collins, he was only getting 20 minutes as a starting front rower.
“He had three runs. I don’t understand how he keeps his spot in team that went poorly.
“Let’s not dance around it.”

Australia can sweep the three match series with a win at Headingley Stadium on Sunday at 1:30am AEDT.
