- QLD win the series 2-1
- Munster hailed for bravery after father's death
- NSW fell apart
What a performance. What a game. I mean you talk about the storylines that were facing the Queenslanders. No one gave us hope.
The odds were against us in the sense that, it's been a very, very long time since Queensland wonteo2 games away from home.
They were able to do that and it was just one of those performance where if, if you look at it and you sort of peel it, you go through with a fine tooth comb - and New South Wales will absolutely - it, it'll be fascinating to see.
They can eat their own down there, and it's already started.
The winning plays that we saw from Queensland last night whether it be just bodies in motion, making a tackle for your mate, or diving on a loose ball or just turning up when you shouldn't have to turn up. They were the difference.
There were some wonderful plays, some excellent individual performances.
There absolutely was no bad performer for Queensland, but, what a victory.
I don't think I can recall a series where the Queensland captain got dropped after game one; that was enormous in itself.
Unexpected players got pulled into the team.
That will go down as one of the great victories.
NSW DON'T GET IT
If you're south of the border, you'd be sick to death of hearing this but they just don't get it.
It's not about the best player in each position and we've seen that time and time again.
If you're willing to pay a certain price, both mentally and physically, throughout a game of football for long periods of time, you will get the job done and we saw that.
We all had our views on who should and shouldn't be part of the Queensland side. I thought last night's team was the most balanced football team, over the, the course of the three games.
That desire and willingness to perform and hunt and understand what the fabric of State of Origin means.
MUNSTER
I've never faced that sort of adversity whilst playing the game of football.
But the one thing that you do rely on is just that camaraderie and that mateship.
And you can see that, you can't fake that either.
Cam Munster went back with his family, then his whole family came down to Sydney with him and the team really rallied around, not only Cameron, but the extended family, which It's such a powerful thing.
Now he's still got to go through the grieving processes of losing his dad, but I'll tell you what, his dad, looking down from above would be enormously proud.
NSW FELL APART
I haven't seen New South Wales with their execution so poor.
Just half a pass, just not quite, not quite where it needed to be or a pass touching the ground.
It’s brutal and as harsh as it may sound, it's pretty much spot on, isn't it?
I can't recall the attack so disjointed.
We're talking about some of the game's greatest ever players from an attacking point of view.
You've got Premiership players galore, combinations galore, but it just didn't seem like it was there, did it?
But Queensland just continually had a plan and they executed it beautifully.
