Cam Luke & Campbell Brown have your Monday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a look at Canterbury, Mornington, Gawler, Cairns & Grafton to bring the Track family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
Canterbury: Race 4, No.2 - NAVAL COMMISSIONRunning well this prep and again fitter now up to 1900. Third-up which is when he always runs well! Loves heavy slop and Braith Nock is in form as well as the 2kg claim in a big plus. Monarchs Brae is the class horse who loves Canterbury and will control the race with J-Mac but the weight combined with the query on Heavy has me against it.
Canterbury: Race 5, No.1 - FIRST MISSIONWas just OK last start at 1400 so back in distance and an easier race works. Plenty of speed in this race so K-Mac might take a little seat if he needs to but he can control his fortune. Heavy track is perfect as is third-up where he won over 1300 late last year. Has to carry the weight but is the classiest horse in the race and the heavy gives him the edge.
The danger is True Amor. Finds a slightly easier race than resuming where ran ok. Month between runs and back a little I think works well so include in a SRM and Quaddie.
Canterbury: Race 7, No.6 - FLYING DESTINY (each way)Flies first-up and has trialled decently leading into this The use of the Jace McMurray claim I like a lot (3 kgs) and even with a bit of speed in the race, I think he can control it. Loves Canterbury with two wins, one second at the track and never ever runs a bad race. I expect today will be the same. Over the odds at $11 and a great each-way play!
Grafton: Race 6, No.1 - SEKIPlenty of speed in the race so the young Jett Newman will be able to take a set and allow the horse to get the groove. Seems to be itching to get to 1600 after a couple at 1400 this prep and may even need further as races more. Toe into the ground no dramas and I think on the rise and is better than these!
Mornington: Race 6, No.4 - LA FRACASWon first-up on a Heavy at Kilmore last prep and this race is very much same set up! Claim is perfect and has jumped out as normal which suggests is ready to go as usual. The gate is the issue, it’s my only concern as he is the best horse in the race so cross your fingers and hope young Bates can find a smidge of luck and a backside and if he does, he will be too good!
Mornington: Race 7, No.2 - MATHEWWas pretty good without any luck resuming at Flemington and has won seconnd-up before. Heavy track is a big plus and he is a horse who needs even further than this. Will go back from the gate and as long as he gets some cover being wide might not be a bad thing by race 7.
Campbell Brown
Canterbury: Race 4, No.2 - NAVAL COMMISSIONAbsolutely loves a heavy deck, has been building nicely up to 1900m third-up today. Braith Nock claims 2kgs. Huge winning chance at $3.20.
Mornington: Race 3, No.2 - REGAL SECRETHas a good first-up record. Has trialled well for today's assignment, drawn well and should lead. Smart claim too. Early money. $2.60.
Gawler: Race 4, No.6 - WILD WILD WESTGood debut, drawn poorly but now jumps out of 7 with scratchings. Clearly the one to beat.
Cairns: Race 3, No.3 - SKOGAFOSSCan lead or box seat from 1. Jackson Murphy has had great success on this horse and will handle these conditions. Won track and trip before. Very consistent. $2.60.
Grafton: Race 8, No.4 - UNDER TWENTY TWOJump, lead, win for senior jockey in a race devoid of any speed. The clear danger, Miss Utichel, will go back from that barrier.
