Mills would create “real impact” in NBL
Australian basketball great Patty Mills could have a “real impact” in the NBL according to 1990 MVP Derek Rucker.
Newscorp reported on Thursday that clubs are considering whether the 36-year-old Mills would play in the NBL to finish his career, and Rucker believes the 2014 NBA champion would provide multiple benefits to some teams.
“Would Patty be a great pick-up for a club? For various reasons, 100% he would,” Rucker said on NBL Now.
“There are a few teams that I can see him having a real impact with. There are a number of locations where he could go to that would significantly change the commercial and the marketing aspect of your program.”

Mills has appeared in just 20 NBA games this season for the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers.
Rucker also mentioned Joe Ingles would be a strong addition to an NBL club but in a front-office capacity, similar to the Andrew Bogut and Luc Longley roles at the Sydney Kings.
