SEN • May 27th, 2025 7:30 pm

Kane Cornes and David King have graded each AFL team's performances throughout 2025 entering the mid-season bye rounds.
Graded on SEN's Fireball, the pair delve into the positives and negatives from each side's opening fixtures, judging their position amongst the competition with a rating scored from one to 10.
With North Melbourne heading into the bye in Round 12, Cornes and King shone the spotlight on the Kangaroos.
Alastair Clarkson's Roos currently sit 17th with a 2-1-8 record through 11 games.
North Melbourne
The Roos have finished bottom two in each of the past five seasons and again find themselves in that position.
Their two wins have come against Melbourne and Richmond while they did draw with Brisbane in Round 9.
“Only West Coast have conceded more points this season after they were the worst defensive side last year,” Cornes said on SEN’s Fireball.
“There are some positives from an individual personnel viewpoint. Charlie Comben emerging is a great story. I love watching him play, he’s stood up in big moments.
“Paul Curtis is a star and is in the conversation as the best small forward in football.
“Finn O’Sullivan is another one who has come in and looks ready to go.
“George Wardlaw is worth the price of admission on his own, just to go and watch him play
“They need to get themselves to seven wins and a draw and then there’s something to hang their hat on.
“But far too often they disappoint you when they’re in games and they aren’t able to finish the job. There seems to be a lack of resilience, unfortunately.”
Cornes' rating: 5/10
