Leading form analyst Mick Gannon from TheGreatTipOff and SENTrack has provided his best bets for the weekend of racing.
Gannon has targeted Randwick for his Saturday specials.
Best Bets
Race 1, No.4 Tenbury Wells
Tenbury Wells resumes after tackling Group company as a three-year-old and now takes a significant class drop into a restricted Midway.
His recent trials suggest he’s come back in strong order, showing the sharpness needed to perform fresh.
With Alysha Collett retaining the ride from the trials and a favourable draw, he can take up a handy on-speed position.
From there his quality should prove enough, and he profiles as the horse to beat.
Race 9, No.5 - Private Eye
Private Eye dictated terms when claiming the G2 PB Lawrence last start and shapes for a similar run here.
While he doesn’t need to control a soft tempo to win, the absence of genuine speed allows him to cross comfortably and secure a prime spot in the run.
He’s posted elite figures in three of his past four outings, and a repeat of those efforts makes him the standout.
Second-up record is solid, Nash Rawiller sticks, and with map favours in his corner he looks exceptionally hard to roll.
