May breaks silence on NRL return, bible class and rapping
Taylan May has broken his silence on returning to the NRL after facing domestic violence charges.
The former Panther, who now goes by his rap name “Mayfair”, was accused of punching his wife Jess in April 2024, but the charges have since been withdrawn by police.
May this week told his 26,000 Instagram followers that he is now focused on returning to the field which he says “is in God’s hands”.
He also announced he was working on making music and asked followers to join his new Bible meets.
“Thanks to everyone for showing love on this music journey,” May said.
“I just do it for fun and peace of mind but I do wanna play NRL.
“For people wondering when I’ll be back, I’ll come back when god tells me to come, until then wait patiently.
“Anyone wanna join my Bible studies I’ll be running it every Thursday 6pm, DM for location.
“Doesn't matter what religion any religion come.”
May, who was stood down under the NRL no fault rules, has been linked with a move to Wests Tigers where he can play alongside brother Terrell.
Tigers captain Apisai Koroisau has spoken highly of the exiled centre who scored 17 tries in his 30 NRL games.
“He's an incredible player,” Koroisau said.
“He's (had it) pretty hard off the field at the time but it sort of is what it is at the moment and the club will execute that if needed.
“It's hard to come by these kind of guys.
“He works out in the backfield and you need that from your wingers these days and he's that quick - some of that speed you can't teach.
“I'm sure there's a few clubs going for him so we'll see what happens.”
