After the season commenced in early October, the final Launceston night meeting of 24/25 arrives on Friday with eight races.
The program features three $50,000 events dedicated to Tasbred horses.
The rail is in the +6m position with fine weather forecast.

Race 3 – 3. Shy Guy
After two seconds to open his Tasmanian account, Friday looks to be the night for Shy Guy to go one better. He was being hailed the winner last week before being nailed on the post over 1400m. The rise to 1600m on the quick back-up looks suitable, and this maiden/class 1 doesn’t have the depth of the race he contested last Friday. $2.30 after scratchings is fair, I’ve marked him a touch shorter than that.

Race 6 – 8. Bloomtime
A few of Friday’s races have been knocked about scratching’s, and this is one of them with the well-backed Glory Mission coming out on race morning. I’ve always had an opinion of Bloomtime, who resumes here and ran second in the 3YO edition of this race last year. I feel her fresh record is a touch misleading and really liked her trial at Longford last week in what was easily the quickest heat of the morning. With the market firmly in the corner of the Blacker pair, I think Bloomtime is well over the odds.

Race 4 – 8. Coup De Spry
I’ve got the fourth as the hardest race of the night, one I’ve marked $5 the field. I’m happy to have something each-way on Coup De Spry, who has had three trials in readiness for a resumption over 1600m, a distance that has returned three of his four career wins. I thought his recent work has been impressive, and down in the weights he looks something of a forgotten horse in a race with plenty of good recent form among the market fancies.
