The New Zealand Breakers have signed a former player in dynamic guard Tai Webster as their nominated replacement player for the rest of the NBL26 season.
He returns from playing in France and steps in for Izayah Le'Afa, who has been ruled out after X-rays revealed a stress fracture in his foot.
"It’s incredibly unfortunate for Izayah. He has been working extremely hard, and this is a tough blow." Breakers President of Basketball Operations Dillon Boucher said.
"Adding a player of Tai's calibre at this stage of the season is a massive boost for our group. We know exactly what he brings to the floor - energy, pace, and defensive intensity… he is a local guy who understands what this club means to the community."
Webster, an Auckland native with extensive European experience and previous NBL success, provides a versatile backcourt option and joins the team immediately in Hamilton, who take on the Sydney Kings at Claudelands Arena this Wednesday.
