Mark Bickley’s top 10 players in the AFL right now
Mark Bickley has named his top 10 players in the AFL right now.
The two-time Adelaide Crows premiership captain says his list, one player aside, is based on 2025 form.
“This is who I’m picking and who I think are the 10 best players in the comp right now based on this year’s form,” Bickley said on SEN SA Breakfast.
“All bar one, who has had a bit of an injury-interrupted season, the rest have been in good form this year.”
See Bickley’s top 10 below:
1 - Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
“Clearly the best player in the competition right now. He has running power, he wins clearances, he does everything and he does it really well.”
2 - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
“This is somewhat controversial. I know he hasn’t played heaps of footy this year but I just have huge trust in him. He’s going to have a huge say for the Dogs this year.”
3 - Lachie Neale (Brisbane)
“I think sometimes he can be underrated. He gets it done weekly. Gets lots of clearances, gets tagged and still finds a way."
4 - Zak Butters (Port Adelaide)
“He is Port’s heart and soul. When he gets it done generally Port go really well.”

5 - Isaac Heeney (Sydney)
“He impacts games, he can play in the middle, he goes forward, he kicks goals.”
6 - Jordan Dawson (Adelaide)
“He’s leading the coaches votes. He can go forward and impact a game. He’s had three best on grounds (at least). His disposal let him down for two games but he has bounced back.”
7 - Tom Green (GWS)
“He is the best extractor in the competition. Patrick Cripps was that player, but he has had an indifferent start to the year, so I’ve got Tom Green there.”
8 - Andrew Brayshaw (Fremantle)
“His power running is back. He is back to somewhere close to the form he showed when winning the Leigh Matthews Trophy.”
9 - Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong)
“He is still a match-winner. He finds a way to impact games and does it when his team needs him most.”
10 - Sam Taylor (GWS)
“I think the best key defender in competition. He’s an absolute star.”
Apologies: Riley Thilthorpe (Adelaide), Tom Liberatore (Western Bulldogs), Max Gawn (Melbourne), Hugh McCluggage (Brisbane), Zach Merrett (Essendon), Caleb Serong (Fremantle)
