Footy legend Malcolm Blight has made his top 8 and Grand Final predictions for the 2025 AFL season.
The two-time North Melbourne premiership player and two-time Adelaide premiership coach believes it will be a Sydney v Collingwood decider this season.
He also believes that GWS will stay in the top four, joined by the Crows who he is expecting to rocket into calculations.
“I’ve got Collingwood in the Grand Final,” Blight said on SEN’s Sportsday SA.
“I think Dan McStay (returning from injury) and Dan Houston will be massive ins.
“The Daicos boys are probably going to get better, and you’ve got all those other pretty good players including Tim Membrey who can kick a goal.
“Also I’ve got Sydney to go back there with a new coach (Dean Cox). They were so dominant last year.
“Ok, they’ve lost Errol Gulden but someone will bob up.
“They look a team that’s now ready. Maybe the change of coach - and I don’t say John Longmire couldn’t coach, he was a great coach - but I think maybe the new enthusiasm with a new coach might just keep them up there.
“Sydney and Collingwood for the Grand Final, and GWS and Adelaide to make up the top four.”
Blight’s top 8 prediction:
1 - Sydney2 - Collingwood3 - GWS4 - Adelaide5 - Geelong6 - Brisbane7 - Hawthorn8 - Port Adelaide
