LISTEN: Veteran golf commentator tipping record crowds at LIV Golf Adelaide 2025

SEN’s Pat Welsh, a doyen of Australian golf broadcasting, can’t wait for LIV Golf Adelaide to kick off on Friday at The Grange Golf Club.
Welsh, who will be there calling the action for SEN Golf, is tipping more than 100,000 to come through the gates after 94,000 attended the event in 2024.
Having covered countless golf tournaments over the best part of three decades including majors, Welsh says he’s never seen something quite like LIV Golf Adelaide and he urged golf lovers in South Australia to come along this weekend.
“I can’t wait, it’s going to be fantastic,” Welsh told SEN Mornings.
“We had 94,000 last year and I reckon it’s going to top six figures this year for sure.
“If you're a pure golf lover, and particularly if you're an Australian golf lover, all of a sudden, we've got a tournament now where the world's best are coming here.
“I'm loving it, really. I've been there the last couple of years, so fortunately for SEN and I've never been to a golf tournament like this.
“I’ve covered 20 or 30 majors over the years and all of the events in Australia over a quarter of a century … you've got to give it to the South Australian premier … the state has just embraced it.
“It's been amazing.”
