The New Zealand Breakers' President of Basketball Operations, Dillon Boucher, caught up with Sport Nation’s Millsy and Guy to discuss how the team can turn their NBL fortunes around, and why the team has had a poor start to the season - winning one from their first five.
One of the team’s main issues is not being able to close out games, something Boucher is aware the team need to.
“We really thought we had that one,” Boucher said about Sunday's home loss to the South East Melbourne Phoenix.
“We got a 12 point lead in the game and we weren’t able to hold onto that.
“We’ve had two games now where we’ve had significant leads and just haven’t been able to hold onto to it.
“So again, just trying to find those little nuances of why we’re losing the leads.
“But also how do we continue playing on the periods where we’ve managed to get the leads and maintain that for longer.”
The Breakers next play the Tasmania JackJumpers at 7:30pm Friday night at Auckland's Spark Arena.
