Ahead of the 2025 A-League campaign kicking off, Sport Nation’s Millsy and Guy caught up with Wellington Phoenix captain Alex Rufer before their opening match against Perth Glory across the ditch.
Rufer is grateful to get the Perth fixture out of the way before the summer months.
“We’ve had some real tough trips over there,” Rufer said.
“It’s usually really hot and it’s a massive grind.
“It’s still going to be a tough game this weekend, but I mean, when it’s hot like it is during the summer, it makes it extremely tough.”
The Wellington Phoenix play Perth Glory on Saturday October 18, at 11:45pm NZT.
