“It’s A Game Changer”: Why Darcy Moore is teaming up with Transport Victoria to transform your Match Day
Collingwood captain Darcy Moore is used to finding the best route out of defence, but now he’s helping AFL fans find the best route to the MCG. In a new partnership with Transport Victoria, Moore is fronting a campaign to highlight how the landmark Metro Tunnel provides more options for the trek to the footy for thousands of Victorians.
The partnership kicked off with a recent viral video that gained over 1 million views, featuring Moore fronting up to a post-game press conference with a twist – he gave out advice on how footy fans can get home on match day using the new Metro Tunnel.
Moore jumped at the chance to be involved in the project, seeing it as a vital upgrade for the city. With the Metro Tunnel delivering more options and more frequent services, fans can enjoy more ways to get to the game.
“The match-day experience starts long before the first bounce. As players, we feel the energy of the crowd when they arrive on time and amped up,” Moore said. “The Metro Tunnel is a major upgrade, and I wanted to get involved because it’s about making the game more accessible for everyone. Less time stuck in traffic or on a packed platform means more time enjoying the footy with your family and friends.”
For fans, the benefits are tangible. The Metro Tunnel allows for more trains, more often. To plan your trip to the ‘G use the PTV App or journey planner at transport.vic.gov.au.
