Israel Dagg: Why we shouldn't take Sam Cane for granted

All hail, Sam Cane.
A few months ago, when he was in Japan recovering from injury, all signs were leading to Razor and co heading in a new direction. It was time for the next crop of players to announce themselves on the big stage.
Fast forward a few months and now we're at a sudden situation where myself, and I'm sure many out there, are finding it hard to replace him.
The reality is real. Sam Cane may only be an All Black for one more Test, with concussion protocol ruling him out of action against France this weekend.
Then it will be 'sayonara', as he embarks on his yen junket in Japan.
So, where to now for the All Blacks? What does the post-Sam Cane era look like?
In the past, we've been blessed with opensides and loose forwards. But at the moment, I'm struggling to see who plays.
Ethan Blackadder could do it, but his body is in absolute pieces. Du'Plessis Kirifi is a good player, but is he a Test footy player? Time will tell.
Ardie Savea goes to No. 7. Sitii to No. 8. And who plays No. 6? The solution isn't quite clear for me.
It just goes to show, the bloke doesn't quite get the plaudits he deserves and in a few weeks' time, that reality will hit home.
*Tune into Israel Dagg on SENZ's Scotty & Izzy, 6am-9am weekdays.*
