"Just have to win": The team under the most pressure in Round 10
SEN • May 14th, 2026 6:30 pm

SEN’s Dwayne Russell has named the five teams under the most pressure heading into Round 10.
Russell’s pressure meter ranks teams from 1-5, with number one having the most pressure on them and the most to lose heading into the round.
Check out Russell’s pressure meter below.
1 – St Kildavs Richmond - Marvel Stadium – Sunday
“I've got St Kilda at one,” Russell told SEN's Dwayne's World.
“In terms of fallout from a loss. The Saints are eleventh, they are 4-5. Now is the time that they need to climb up the ladder.
“Yes, they've got no Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, but Richmond's only got half a team out, so Richmond are really struggling when it comes to their depth.
“St Kilda just have to win this game.”
2 - Hawthornvs Melbourne – MCG – Saturday
“I've actually got Hawthorn at two.
“A draw and a loss in their last two - I think the Hawks need to beat Melbourne to keep in touch with the top two. I think it's going to be critical for Hawthorn to finish top two, otherwise you're looking at a Prelim Final in Brisbane, or a Prelim Final in Sydney, or in WA against Fremantle if you can't win your first final.
“You might end up having the double. You play your first final away, and if you lose that, you play a Prelim away, which would be pretty tough.
“They need to stay in touch with the top two.”
3 – Adelaidevs North Melbourne - Adelaide Oval – Saturday
“I've actually got Adelaide at three, which might surprise a few.
“It's a home game versus North Melbourne. Adelaide have won their past two, but I don't think the Crows have been overly convincing.
“North Melbourne are a really good test right now. If Adelaide are going to keep in touch with the top eight - and they'll drop out of the top eight if they lose, the team that won the minor premiership last year - I think Adelaide deserve to be in the top five of the pressure meter.”
4 - GWS Giantsvs West Coast – Optus Stadium – Sunday
“I've got the Giants at four.
“They're 13th right now the Giants. Four wins, five losses, desperately need to beat the West Coast Eagles.
“The thing about the Giants is, the expectation is still high, they've got the list to be a contender. I know they've got players out, but they need to get this win and start getting themselves up the ladder from 13th.”
5 – North Melbournevs Adelaide - Adelaide Oval – Saturday
“I've got North Melbourne at five.
“It would be pretty easy to put Port Adelaide in there, but beating the Suns in Darwin is pretty tough - they've won their last nine there now.
“You could almost put the Western Bulldogs into the frame, but I've got North Melbourne in fifth, because I think there's an expectation now that they need a scalp.
“Lost three in a row, 'close, no cigar' kind of games. Been competitive, great to watch, but I think they need a scalp, and I think the Adelaide scalp - if they are genuinely a contender for top eight - then they could grab that scalp.”
