Inaccurate Crows left to lick their wounds in Anzac clash
Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks said that the Crows will be left to lick their wounds after losing by 18 points to Fremantle.
At Optus Stadium, the Dockers were red-hot as they started the first quarter kicking six goals to pull out to a 25-point lead at quarter time.
While the Crows did work themselves back in the second, the game was won in the third quarter when Adelaide only scored four points to Fremantle’s 26 with the margin becoming insurmountable.

Adelaide was also not helped by their inaccuracies in front of goal-kicking 9.13 which only made Darcy Fogarty’s absence more noticeable.
Speaking post-game, Nicks was somewhat disappointed in the result, he believes that while there are positives to take out of the match, they should have been more clinical in front of goal.
“We had our chances, didn’t we?” Nicks said.
“We’re sitting in a spot where we are really disappointed to what we put out there tonight.
“But we had our opportunities, we didn’t kick straight. Expected score is probably not looking as bad as what it could of.
“Tonight was just one of those nights that we got a lot of areas wrong and not being able to knock it through, that’s going to cost you the game.”
Defender Mitch Hinge may have concerns with the MRO after an incident between him and Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw.
Hinge appears to have struck Brayshaw on his chin which saw the Fremantle star which saw him slightly dazed.
To add more bad news for the Crows, forward Riley Thilthorpe would suffer an injury to his hand during the third quarter.
While Nicks doesn’t know the extent of his injury, he was proud of the way that Thilthorpe responded in the fourth quarter.
“I think it’s dislocated,” Nicks said.
“So, we’ll just have to see to what extent that is.
“He managed to go off (and) get back on the ground and still impact so, hopefully its not a long-term miss for him.
“We love him. He’s a big part of our footy club.”
Adelaide will be looking to make it five wins for the season next week then they take on Carlton on Saturday afternoon at the Adelaide Oval.
