Kane Cornes has once again put the heat on Adelaide ahead of Friday night’s blockbuster clash against the Lions.
The Crows are currently in third spot on the ladder with eight wins for the year however they have only beaten one top eight side.
Cornes believes that tonight’s clash is a great opportunity for the Crows to prove to the rest of the competition that they have the ability to compete with the best.
“This is a great opportunity for Adelaide,” Cornes told SEN Fireball.
"The Adelaide football club. The whole club, all of them!
“This is who you’ve beaten this year; St Kilda, Essendon, North Melbourne, they got the Giants which was a good win in that awful game where the Giants kicked four goals in the wet.
“Then they’ve beaten Carlton, Port Adelaide, West Coast and they’ve beaten up on Sydney.
“I don’t want the Crows to be flat-track bullies.
“It is Brisbane this week, they are favourites, it is the prime-time stage tonight, get it done.
"You have beaten no one. The Adelaide Football Club have beaten no one! Yet, they are third on the ladder and in a good position."
In calling on the third-placed Crows, Cornes has put the spotlight on a number of players that he believes need to perform well against top sides.
“I have the jury out on players like Mark Keane," he continued.
"Looks good when you are winning by 90 at the SCG, but when you come up against a pretty dangerous forward line what’s the match up going to be, how do you compete?
“There are a few names, Rory Laird is probably the other one, Brodie Smith I like back there, (James) Peatling and (Isaac) Cumming and these types of players around the edge.
“(Josh) Rachele has been beating up on some poorer sides. There’s a lot of questions. That's why they are in the gun."
The Crows will be hoping to prove their credentials when they return to Friday night footy to take on Brisbane at the Adelaide Oval.
