Dillon Boucher’s basketball story is basically the story of Kiwi hoops.
He debuted for the Tall Blacks in 2001 and helped the side land a historic fourth at the 2002 World Champs, making a name for himself doing the hard yards on court.
He was there from the start as an inaugural Breaker in 2003, making his name as a hard-nosed, team-first player, before heading across the ditch with the Perth Wildcats and Brisbane Bullets.
Returning to Auckland in 2008 thanks to a rather direct request by CJ Bruton to the front office, he helped the Breakers to the promise land, racking up three straight NBL titles between 2011 and 2013, adding to the 2007 championship he won with the Perth Wildcats.
The man who worked so hard on the court, continues to give back off it - now as the President of Basketball Ops for the club that proudly hangs his No. 24 in the rafters.
That number will soon be joined by the legendary 10 of Tom Abercrombie in a special retirement ceremony taking place January 30 at Spark Arena as part of the club's Round 19 ANBL clash with Melbourne United.
Sitting down with Sport Nation's Millsy and Guy, Boucher runs through the lot.
