Friday best bets from Luke & Brown (18/07)
Cam Luke & Campbell Brown have your Friday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Mildura, Albury, Tamworth & Rockhampton in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
MILDURA
Race 2 | 2. Alpine Honey
Debuted over 1600m and was already looking for 2000m. Winner of that race and since ran really well in a stronger Geelong race. Won’t go around a horse from inside gate! Can trail Tosen Impact who will take him into the straight as a horse who can run well also. He’ll improve from the experience of raceday and the jockey/trainer combo deserves utmost respect and I think he will run really well!!
Race 7 | 5. Favourite Child
Found the 1100m in town a little slick in a good race but I’d say that’s part of the plan for this! Ran pretty well considering. Straight to 1400m suits and Linda Meech can park a little closer from that gate and sit behind leader who will be Dubai Poet I assume. A little toe in the ground to a soft would have upped my bet but it won’t be the reason he doesn’t win. Dubai Poet will have to work a little form the gate which I think aids Favourite Child and gives the advantage.
Race 8 | 4. Make It Sweet
Led last week in a tougher race and I think today can even take a little sit if Zambezi Khan goes hard early. Won’t break my heart if they go slow enough for it too lead but a trail into the race would help. I love the seven day back up and staying at the 2000m. I also like the fact there are questions over the others. Untethered 1400-2000m, Oxford Blue out of form . Zambezi Khan the danger but hopefully will do the donkey work for Make It Sweet who I do think is in better form and wins.
ALBURY
Race 8 | 3. Sorry Sunshine
Is a horse in form and was really good winning last start over 1400m and will appreciate the step up to 1500m. He will have run of the race camped right off the speed from the barrier and the heavy track is perfect. Has to carry 63kg which is the only concern but he does carry weight pretty well (61kg last start)and will be hard to beat.
TAMWORTH
Race 8 | 8. Speck
This mare resumes today after going to the paddock in really good form including winning in town in a highway. Has trialed up well and has won first up before and from that gate should be able to get run of the race. Her only Heavy run was ages ago and I have no dramas with that today. She is a 1000m specialist and will be hard to top today.

Campbell Brown
MILDURA
Race 3 | 3. Moaksun
Perennial bridesmaid, but surely breaks maiden today. 12 starts for six seconds and two thirds, suggests he is consistent. But is he a non winner. Today we find out. $2.20.
ALBURY
Race 4 | 6. Miss Cotoletta
Heavy 8 in Albury today and this filly loves a heavy deck 2/2. Drawn well and should go forward in a race without a lot of speed. The one to beat at $1.95.
TAMWORTH
Race 4 | 9. Dartbrook
Racing consistently and rises to 1400m today is perfect. Soft ground no problems and from barrier 1 can sit just behind the speed. $3.70.
ROCKHAMPTON
Race 5 | 9. Alloutatime
Good first up record, will jump and lead and run them off their feet with 51kgs on the back. $1.95.
