Important SN update for Southland“Football genius”: Kane Cornes pays tribute to Phil Walsh

10 years today - it’s going to be a sombre recognition of that.
There’s a small group of those that were close to Phil from both clubs - Port Adelaide and the Crows - and those that were in Phil's close circle catching up for a quiet bite to eat tonight.
I can't be there because of work commitments, but my thoughts to Meredith and everyone at the footy clubs that Phil touched, and there was many of those.
Those players that he coached would all have a Phil Walsh story.
He's the most impressive football person, along with Mark Williams, that I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
My day didn't start on a Monday until I was in Phil Walsh's office reviewing my game. I felt like the week had started after I'd spoken to Walshy and we'd watched my tape.
He was just an absolute football genius and it's just a tragedy.
