Liverpool’s hopes of defending their Premier League title are slipping week by week after suffering their sixth defeat of the season overnight.
Despite a promising start to the match, The Reds were embarrassed at home to Nottingham Forest, losing 3-0 and ultimately dropping to 11th on the table.
The 3-0 win has helped Sean Dyche’s men climb out of the relegation zone for now, with this result being their third league game in a row where they’ve scored two or more goals in the match and have not been beaten as well.
Chelsea have continued to pile on the pressure on league leaders Arsenal after they were able to defeat Burnley away from home in the early window contest.
Goals from Pedro Neto (37th minute) and Enzo Fernandez (88th minute) ensured all three points would be going back to London, with the Blues now sitting only a game behind the Gunners.
Wolverhampton’s quest for their first win of the season will have to wait another week after they were defeated by Crystal Palace at home 2-0.
Daniel Munoz (63rd minute) and Yeremi Pino (69th minute) were able to do the damage inside the space of 10 minutes.
Palace have now moved inside the top four on the Premier League table, with this result being their fifth win of the season. Only Arsenal has a better defensive record than Crystal Palace this season, as they’ve only conceded nine goals from the first 12 matches.
Bournemouth had to fight back from 2-0 down to rescue a point against West Ham at a wet and dismal Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries were haunted by the return of their former striker Callum Wilson, who popped up to claim a first half brace which put the home side on the back foot.
However, a smashing penalty from Marcus Tavernier (69th minute) and a neat finish from Enes Unal (81st minute) ensured that the result would finish in a draw.
Brighton bravely came from behind to claim their fifth win of the season, with a 2-1 win over Brentford seeing them rise to fifth on the Premier League table.
An Igor Thiago penalty in the 29th minute had the Sea Gulls worried, as Brentford started off positively.
Danny Welbeck’s equaliser (71st minute), followed by Jack Hinshelwood’s winner (84th minute) were the saving grace in the end for Brighton, who avoided dropping down to as far as 12th on the Premier League table if they couldn’t get the result.
Fulham left it late to claim all three points against newly promoted Sunderland overnight, with Raul Jimenez slotting in the winner in the 84th minute.
It’s been a slow start to this Premier League season for Fulham’s main man, with that winner over Sunderland only being his second goal for the season.
And Newcastle have caused an upset to keep their European hopes alive, with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City seeing them stay within four points of the top six after completing 12 matches.
A brace from Harvey Barnes (63rd and 70th minute) saw the Magpies walk away with all three points, as well as hand City their fourth loss of the season.
That makes them the team with most losses thus far that sit inside the top ten of the Premier League table.
Still to come, a highly anticipated North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham highlight the remaining fixtures for matchday 12.
Leeds will be looking to escape the relegation zone themselves when they take on Aston Villa at home on Monday morning, whilst Manchester United and Everton round out the match week when they meet on Tuesday morning at Old Trafford.
